Laptop as a DVR

Can I turn my Dell D620 into a DVR?

I have a Dell D620 with a broken screen. Everything else works fine, and its been doing its job as a XenServer hypervisor for a while but I'm thinking of ditching that and making it a DVR to record and view TV.

I have a DigitalNow TinyTwin Dual Tuner.

My question is ... I'm assuming I'll need to buy a USB to HDMI converter for it, can anyone recommend one? Also what software should I use?

Thanks!

Best answer: What OS do you have on the laptop or do you have available? I'm a big SageTV fan, and it runs on Windows, Linux, and Mac. You could try Windows Media Center if you have Windows. You could try MythTV for Linux.

SageTV has a really helpful community forum that would answer any questions you have. Check out forums.sagetv.com.
