Does anyone know the amount of carbs and calories in a bottle of the Korean alcoholic drinks soju and Baekseju? (Just the regular soju in the green bottles, for example "Cham i sul Fresh" or "Choeum chareum".)

I know Soju clocks in around 500. It was one of those like SHOCKING DIET SECRETS things in the Korea Times a few months ago. However, bear in mind that alcohol calories are a little different from food calories. Otherwise Koreans would be 1200 pounds.

Soju has around 500 calories and 0 carbs.

second source is a synopsis of a science/health-focused tv program from a major korean TV network. tertiary source, yeah, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't close to the truth.

Response by poster: Thanks. Any idea if baekseju has fewer calories? It has less alcohol.

Well, a bottle of soju typically has about 360ml, so soju has about 139 calories per 100ml. This page tells me that baekseju has about 80 calories per 100ml. It also has about 2g of carbs and 1g of dietary fiber per 100ml.
