"War of Internet Addiction" by the numbers.

How many times has the Chinese video "War of Internet Addiction", 网瘾战争, been viewed on Chinese video web sites since its released in January 2010?

The video came out in China in January, was banned, and then was re-released. The Wall Street Journal wrote about it in February, and by March, I remember reading that the video had ten million hits on Chinese video hosting sites. In April, the video won the the 2010 Tudou Film Festival, and I assume its viewership has grown since the articles in the Western press in January and February. I've tried poking around, but I don't speak or read Chinese and I can't make heads or tails of translated web pages. Can someone find for me an estimate of how many times the video has been viewed *from Chinese hosting sites* since its release in January? Did any of the articles about the Tudou award happen to mention the estimated number of views since its release?

This upload from 2010-01-22 had been viewed (播放 - 'played') 203000 times; this from 2010-01-25 34272 times. Quick video search showed it to be on Youku too, version I saw had been played less than 10,000 times. That wasn't at exhaustive at all, plus as I recall, the stats aren't particularly reliable and may have been reset when it was banned.

Response by poster: Thank you. Any comments in Chinese media about how much the video has been viewed? When it won the Tudou award, did anyone cite any numbers?

Best answer: Doh! Should have thought to look for those myself. Can find bulletin board posts like this from back in Jan saying "《网瘾战争》收视统计:十天内播放超过400万次(完全手工统计)" ['Viewing figures for 网瘾战争: played more than four million times in ten days (figures entirely worked out by hand {i.e. poster did the calculations themselves - s/he shows their working below listing the various main video sites and viewing stats})] but nothing more recent on a cursory search.

Response by poster: Thank you! It sounds like a total count is not available. The four million in ten days is a great help though, and I appreciate your help.

And may I add, excellent use of nested parentheses.
