Online travel planners?

Any great online travel planners?

I'm looking for a web site to help plan a trip. Ideally, I'd be able to say I'd arrive in country x on a date. From that point I can research and book ideal hotels for the nights. It'd also be nice if the web site recommended trips/things to do in the area. Eventually building a schedule or plan to follow when I do arrive.

Something like a combination of tripit.com and lonelyplanet.com would be nice. The problem with tripit is, as far as I can tell, that it's only useful after you book hotels/flights. But I really like the way the time line comes together on that site. Lonelyplanet is great, but I can't seem to find a way to build and plan my own trip.
