Is there a Filtered/Sorted Ipad App List?

Where can I get a filtered, sorted, list of Ipad (or IPhone) lists?

I have been playing around with my new Ipad, but I am frustrated with the iTunes app store. For one thing, you can't easily do a filtered search. For another you can't sort your results. So for instance I would really like to be able to search on "notepad" and filter my results to free applications, sorted by rating. There are a couple of sites that list apps, but none with this specific info.

Anybody know of something like this? Or for that matter, why does apple not provide this function? Or am I just missing something. Many thanks. --Pete

AppAdvice has an online database, as well as an app.

Response by poster: I looked at AppAdvice, as well as IphoneApplicationList, but neither one of them lets you do a decent search.

You can't say, look for the word "time" in productivity apps, and rank them by publication date, or ranking.

Maybe I'm just picky.
Maybe I should write the app myself. :^)

You didn't mention it, so I'll suggest AppShopper, where you can search, filter by category and free/paid, and add things to a wishlist to be notified when they drop in price.
