What do 30-somethings wear to go out to a club in Las Vegas?
I have a chance to go to the opening of a new show in Las Vegas and attend the official opening night parties being held at a club. What do people wear to these types of things? The hootchie mama clothes I wore last time I went clubbing in Vegas 10 years ago don't seem appropriate anymore.
I'm in my mid-30's and starting from ground zero for this one. I don't mind wearing skirts or heels, but I don't want to stick out like a sore thumb.

Oh, and bring earplugs just in case the music is too painfully loud for you.

If you want heels that you can actually use to walk around Vegas, try on a pair by Sofft. Not the best-looking uppers you'll get for that price range, but extremely comfortable (and available in wide widths).

We did some clubbing stuff in Vegas last year (ugh!).
You'd be fine in nice dark jeans, heels and a flashy top. You could also go hootchie, but it's not required.
Are you doing the pool parties? (ugh! ugh!) Nice suit, nice wrap, too much make up and no one swims.

I was just in Vegas this last weekend and did the entire club thing for a bachelor party. Neekee and 26.2 have it.
Most of the women I saw were wearing some sort of cocktail dress. A few had jeans and some sort of flashy top. All were wearing heels.

Spy On Vegas (NSFW?) has tons of photos of clubbers, so you can see what people are wearing these days (with the caveat that it's not a representative sample -- they focus on taking pictures of the hottest girls in the skimpiest outfits).
I think most girls wear tiny dresses and ridiculous heels, but it's also OK to wear nice jeans with comfortable flats as long as you wear a slutty top.
