i'm looking for a "not-too-cheap-but-not-too-fancy" restaurant to take my wife (and 2 small kids) for a sunday brunch near Jacksonville, Fl / Amelia Island, GA area (for mother's day) -- know of any places i might could follow up on?

i really like barbara jeans. its a smallish chain (only 5 or 6) in north FL. there is in fact one in amelia island but i highly recommend the one in ponte vedra as its tucked away from everything and is right on a little river.

Cafe Karibo in Fernandina Beach is a bit funky/informal but features tasty food and a lovely outdoor courtyard where you can eat under a tree canopy. Fernandina Beach is a nice place to go for a stroll after brunch too. Another idea if you want to make a day of it might be to take the ferry to Cumberland Island from nearby St. Mary's. There was a ferry from Fernandina Beach as well, but I don't think it operates on Sundays. St. Mary's has a few nice restaurants too, but I can't speak to their brunch credentials.

You might google Cafe 11 in St. Augustine. They have a nice Sunday brunch and are kid friendly.
