Clever face/shape-related pun here

Does this guide for determining your face's shape work for men and women, or is the criteria different depending on your gender?
I'm trying to figure out what shape my face is (I think it's oval, but I'm not 100% sure) and Google turned up the afore-linked guide. It's the same for men as it is for women, right? I'm pretty sure it is, but I just wanted to double-check here.

Those guides are ridiculous. They describe lots of people's faces, but not all faces.

If you're comfortable posting a photo, I'm sure AskMe can come up with a consensus.

Can we ask why you need to know your face shape? For haircuts, you're certainly going to get different ADVICE for men's and women's face shapes; for eyeglasses, the advice is probably pretty similar.

Just for the hell of it, really!

Oh, why the hell not. I'll take one when I look human.

Best answer: Looks relatively oval to me. The jawline is a little strong but not enough to change the face shape, I think (though the beard makes it a bit harder to tell).
One thing you can do is to stand in front of a mirror and then trace around your face with a dry erase pen or something. Then step away and look at the shape you drew, and compare it with images of different face shapes. If you can find examples of men's faces instead of women's, that might help. I used to be unsure if my face was oval or something else (I thought I had a narrow chin that would make my face heart-shaped or something), but when I traced it and looked at the shape, it was clearly oval.

Thanks. My beard is relatively thin, but it's definitely thickest around the jawline, which is why it looks stronger. I figured it was basically oval, so thanks for the extra vote of confidence!

Best answer: Oval, and the beard isn't affecting the shape much. Moderately strong chin. "Clean" eyebrows, well-set and average-sized eyes, good hairline, the ability to grow even facial hair or go bare without "shadow" - there isn't much you can't do with this face, IMO.
