Two-for-one 'identify that movie' question.

More "Identify this old movie" questions -- now two for the price of one.
Okay... two movies which I have never seen but only heard about from friends in grade school, so the movies have to be at least 25 years old. I believe both were made for TV.
1) A heist movie where the bad guys divert an armoured truck in the desert onto a closed road, trap it there, and lay siege to it.
2) A flick where a guy loses consciousness in the washroom of a department store (is ill, get mugged and beaten, I don't know) and wakes up to find the store is closed for the weekend and there are vicious guard dogs roaming the premises.
Any ideas?

Ok but then it turns out Heat is a remake of a made-for-TV movie also with the same armored truck heist but it isn't in the desert as such so I'll be quiet now.

Best answer: Oh, lord. I remember Trapped. I watched it while I was babysitting and scared myself shitless.

Best answer: Las Vegas, 500 Milliones (aka They Came to Rob Las Vegas) involves an armored-car heist in the desert.
