Western NY -- Thrift stores, weird records, flea markets, bizarre antiques?

My band played a concert in Geneva NY Sat night -- heading back to Minneapolis now via I-90. We have a bit of slack time Sunday for side trips & detours. Any suggestions, hive mind?

Best answer: This may be too late, but just in Clarence, NY there's Antique World - it's a nice enough day that there'd be a few outdoor vendors, and inside one building there's a guy with a pretty great record booth. Sometimes we try to stump him with obscurities, but he's always got it ("Marvin Rainwater? Sure! Right here!"). It's only about a fifteen minute detour off the Transit Road exit.

Response by poster: Not too late, and exactly the kind of place I was thinking of -- thanks, peagood!

The East Avon Flea Market, south of Rochester, opened earlier this month, I think. By the time you see this & get there, things might have died down for the day, but I actually prefer to hit it around noon.

(If you're interested in a really random impromptu meetup, memail me and I'll head out there!)

The Record Den in Mentor, OH (East of Cleveland, right off of I-90) is awesome.

Response by poster: We ended up in Clarence -- got a nice stack of LPs for $20 (10 Years After / Wanda Jackson / Millie Jackson / Mickey Katz / Roxy Music) and a Turkish 45 for $2. It was early in the season & late in the day, but exactly what we wanted. Thanks again.
