Are there decent thrift and/or second-hand clothing stores in Syracuse?

A friend is considering a day trip to Syracuse for some cross-border shopping, but she's trying not to buy new clothing whenever possible. Are there enough second-hand stores to make this worthwhile? (And if so, where are they?)

Best answer: Eh. There are enough semi-decent stores around that you could make a day of it (especially if you have transportation and are willing to look around in the suburbs, too)...but the stores are not worth making a special trip for, in my opinion. If you're already here, there are places to dig around in, though.

We have:

1. The Salvation Army (corner of Midler and Erie Blvd.)

2. The Rescue Mission/Thrifty Shopper (many locations at this link; the North Syracuse and Liverpool locations are likely to have slightly better stuff)

3. The Cluttered Closet (just off Westcott St.) - pricier, more vintage-oriented, but some good stuff!

Three other places, but I haven't been to any so can't comment on their stock:

North Syracuse Consignment
3728 Brewerton Road, North Syracuse, NY 13212-3830

Green Family Closet Thrift‎
3056 Burnet Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13206-2571

Encore Thrift Shop‎
119 Brooklea Drive, Fayetteville, NY 13066-1303

Whatever she does, I would skip Boom Babies (on Westcott), it's mostly new stuff and largely overpriced.
