What's the dumbest advice you have ever received from a healthcare professional?
I recently talked to a friend who was telling me some of the "funny" (as in "ineffective" or "off the cuff" or "cause more problems than they will solve") things that therapists have advised her to do in the past.
It made me wonder what kind of advice others have received and possibly even tried, only to realize later that they should have known better.
I don't want this to be about bashing medical professionals in a way that makes people hate doctors or therapists or whatever, so I guess I should say I'm looking for lighthearted comic relief rather than "and then we took him to court and sued his" -type stuff.
