makeup for outdoor filming

I'm making a video (think Steve Irwin or Jeff Corwin) outside, and want to know about what makeup to wear.

I need to make a short film of me and some wildlife, and I think I need some makeup. My question is really a 2-parter, although the second part is more important.

1) Do guys like Jeff Corwin or Steve Irwin wear makeup for their shoots?

2) Even if they don't, is there some sort of makeup I should wear to help me look a bit better while filming outside? Any tips, advice, etc. would be great.

Oh, and I'm a guy, using a reasonably expensive consumer camcorder that is capable of recording in HD.

Thanks!

Best answer: I seem to remember David Attenborough getting made up in the extras on one DVD or another.

Best answer: Outdoor makeup should be very, very light...use a powder foundation or something very matte that really matches your natural skin tone. The bright outdoor light is going to show the makeup, so all you want to do is cover blemishes and even things out.

Don't bother with anything on the eyes, which you might for an indoor shoot.

You can probably get away with a tinted powder just to take the shine off. If you're going to be doing water stuff like Corwin or Irwin, don't wear makeup at all. Same goes if you're going to be sweating a lot. It'll just streak.

Response by poster: Thanks. Your advice worked great, and I look as good as possible in the clip.
