Looking for a new gym

Gym and pool recommendations in Montreal's Little Italy?

I'm wondering if anyone might suggest a good gym in and around Little Italy in Montreal. I've seen this, from a few years back. I thought I'd try to get an updated answer, maybe some new gyms have opened up?

I'm especially looking for a space that has a good variety of classes, like pilates or weight classes. I'm also looking for suggestions on a good community pool. I'll be living right near Jean-Talon market. Thanks!

I suggest asking the same question on the forums at SlowTwitch.com. The triathletes there are always asking for pool/gym locations when they're travelling.

My friend likes Fit for Life, on St Laurent near the SE corner of Parc Jarry. It's about a 5-10 minute walk to the market from there.

Best answer: To be honest it's a part of town more dedicated to a dish of pasta and a cup of good joe, but there's Kardiologik just north of Jean-Talon, as well as an Aérobie Plus, on Clark nearby, which is women-only.

You're in the borough of Rosemont-La Petite Patrie – official city pages here – as usual once you burrow down into the city side you start hitting PDF documents, so here's one on sports et loisirs from last summer, but it will indicate where the borough's pools and services are.

Actually, not a lot of pools, but there is the classic Bain Saint-Denis at 7075 Saint-Hubert, just south of Jean-Talon. You should probably get an Accès Montréal card which proves you're a resident and gives you access to these things plus reduced prices on stuff like museums – info on the city site.

Response by poster: Thanks, I had a co-worker recommend Kardiologik, I'll go check it out this weekend.
