Parking at Port Authority's parking garage in NYC: yay or nay?

Has anyone used the parking garage at Port Authority in NYC? I am planning a trip there on a Thursday afternoon (4-5pm) to visit an office at 40th and 8th (we would be leaving that evening). I'm not sure where the best place to park is. I heard Port Authority's parking garage is comparatively cheap, and it's two blocks from my destination. Has anyone used this garage or have any advice? There will be three people in the car to split costs.

I've used it, and it's worked out pretty well for me. It's very convenient if you're coming in from New Jersey through the Lincoln Tunnel. One possible negative is that it does fill up at times. The price is better than most other garages in the area, and the access to the Lincoln Tunnel is fantastic if you're going that way.

Yeah, I haven't personally used it, but my coworker was raving about it the other day. If your ingress and egress point is going to be the Lincoln Tunnel, it's cheap parking, and you won't wait in any of the usual leaving-the-city traffic, you are just plopped right into the tunnel on your way out. Also, you'll be hard pressed to find parking closer to your destination!

Best answer: We always use Central Parking, here's a coupon for a garage at 40th & 8th, $15 for 6 hours.

This site lets you look at rates around the neighborhood, and lets you print coupons like the one to which jara1953 supplied a link.
