Help me edit named ranges in Excel 2008.

Mac Excel 2008 Question: how can I change the edit mode when defining named ranges? It's not F2, it's not CTRL-U, so what is it?
In Windows Excel, F2 is the magic key for editing cells; but it's also the magic key for changing the edit mode when defining named ranges.
While defining or editing a named range, when you try to use the arrow keys to move the cursor in the "Refers to:" field, the default behavior is to insert the cell name for whatever cell was selected. You end up adding something like "+Sheet1!$D$4" to the entry. Only by hitting F2 can you actually use the arrow keys to move the cursor and edit the named range. This is the behavior I want.
On the Mac, CTRL-U is the equivalent of F2 for editing cells, but it does not seem to change the edit mode when defining a named range.
So what keyboard shortcut does this?
