Peephole Weekly

In the early 80s, I was browsing the magazines at a local grocery store and found a humor magazine that had a parody of People Weekly -- called Peephole Weekly here -- as either its front or back cover. What magazine was this? Bonus points for a date of publication.

Note that this was a large, family-friendly grocery, so I don't believe this parody was the product of an X-rated magazine.

Someone is (WAS, since it had been removed when I clicked on it) selling a December 1974 Esquire magazine on ebay, and in their description it said "Peephole Weekly [An hilarious satire of PEOPLE magazine]" Maybe that will help in your search?

Are you sure you aren't thinking of the Simpsons? Peephole Magazine has been a long-standing gag.
