Mystery Caterpillar Giant Fun Time!

Help identify this Japanese travel show featuring a guy in a green caterpillar outfit.

I've seen a few episodes of this at the local sushi restaurant. The intro segments feature a big red muppet, and the "on site" character is the aforementioned caterpillar. The costume is the type you'd see at Disneyland -- full-body plush with an oversized head. The caterpillar not only visits the sites like any other travel show host but also goes surfing, skiing, and generally doing all sorts of things that are amazing (and hilarious) to watch being done by a guy who clearly can't really see or move too well in the costume.

I expected to find the videos all over the internet, but I've been surprised to be able to find nothing at all. I think it might be a kids' show from the graphics and some of the "educational" bits.

Best answer: Could it be Gachapin from Hirake Ponkikki? Look at the image at the top, and at #17 in the list here.

Best answer: Yeah, I had the same thought as iconomy. Is this the kind of thing you saw?

Response by poster: Yes, it's Gachapin! I guess my mistake was thinking he was a caterpillar instead of a dinosaur. Thanks Mefi!
