Je cherche Ariol.

Where can I find French bande-déssinées for less than $15, and where can I watch/how can I find more French children's programming?

I love Ariol. But lately, TF1 isn't showing any more full episodes and I can't find any DVDs of the series for sale anywhere. Ariol is also a BD, which I can find easily enough but they also cost about $15 (9,40 EUR) each. So, where can I find full episodes of simple children's programming online (or better yet, where can I find Ariol)? And if you happen to know of any online BDs in French, that would be marvellous as well.
Or, you know, similar things...

How about some cool French comics?

The plural of «bande dessinée» is «bandes dessinées»

You might be interested in surfing through links at Radio Canada International (I've linked to the Jeunesse section) and it looked like they had some episodes and a section de bande dessinee.

Francophone BD is rather popular in Quebec (Canada), but I'm not close by enough to give you many direct hits. It's sometimes referred to BD, bede (with accents, sorry) or BDQ. Here's a relatively poor wiki page, and here's maybe a better one which nevertheless might be able to give you other names or search terms.

You'll only be able to find second-hand for less than 9,40 EUR or any other book's price, and here's why: in France, there are protective measures for book pricing. In essence, for new books, a book's list price is a book's price, no matter where you get it from. They can only ever be discounted a maximum of 5%. (Ariol's list price is 9,90 EUR; 9,40 is 5% less.) This is to help smaller book sellers stay afloat. They're trying to do the same for e-books.

You can get second-hand ones through Amazon France for a bit cheaper.

Response by poster: fraula: That's pretty cool, I guess; it's for a good cause at least.
Thanks everyone so far.
