Supporting stategies for my persuasive essay?

What supporting strategies can i use for my persuasive essay against MPAA regulations?

I need help coming up with supporting ideas for a persuasive essay about why the MPAA should not be the deciding factor in who can and cannot watch certain movies. In the essay, we are required to state one side of a two-sided argument (against the MPAA deciding who can watch what movies...) and give three reasons to persuade the reader why we feel that way. My three reasons are:

-Who can and cannot watch certain movies should be between the parent and child, not the mpaa
-Children (younger teens) are becoming more worldly
-violent behavior does not come as a result of solely watching movies

For each reason, we must give 3-4 supporting ideas. Examples of supporting idea strategies my teacher gave us are

-emotional appeal
-logical appeal
-facts/research
-personal example/experience
-conciliation

We dont have to use all of them they are just a guideline. Right now i can only think of a couple supporting strategies i can use for each reason, and i realy need help coming up with more. Any ideas will help alot!! Thanks

Well, I suggest you watch Kirby Dick's film "This Film Has Not Yet Been Rated" for research on the MPAA.

Ideas I'd suggest are:

1) The MPAA is notoriously uneven to its ratings. For example, full frontal female nudity will often rate an R, but full frontal male nudity will often get slapped with an NC-17. One utterance of "fuck" gets PG-13, two gets an R. Seems odd.

2) It should be up to the exhibitor who they let into their theaters. Why should a movie theater owner give up money just because the MPAA says a 16 year 364 day old person can't see an R rated film without a parent, but one day later, they're somehow able to mentally handle it.

3) Kids who want to see these films will usually end up watching them anyway on cable or on the internet. Ultimately the MPAA stops nothing.

We're not here to do your homework.

The best strategy for persuasive argument is to take each ostensible goal of your opponent and show that their methods are counter-productive.

Your prof gave you reasonable tools toward writing your essay. If you're having trouble with them, please talk to your teacher.
