Need recipes for a Weight Watchers meal plan...

I need some recommendations for tried and true Weight Watchers recipes so I can put together my own little plan. Hit me with your best 6 pt and 7 pt complete meals...

Some other info...

I have had success with WW before but have been struggling lately and want to get back into things. I have trouble following 'quick start' plans and the like because these plans often have set foods I can't eat due to food allergies.

So I decided that I would make my own and have allotted myself a set number of points per meal. What I would like to do is develop a repertoire of recipes that fit each meal so that I can just mix and match by picking one item off the list for every meal.

Lunches are six points; I usually take a soup or salad and some fruit, so a 4-pt or 5-pt entree would be perfect so I have 1-2 points left for the fruit.

Dinners will be 7 points including all side dishes and other items. I like things I can eat in a bowl like rice with something on top of it, but I am getting bored with the recipes I have and need some new stuff.

Foods I can't have due to allergies:

- All nuts except peanuts
- Flax
- Green beans
- Wheat (bread is the devil! can't do it at all)
- Corn and ALL corn products

Can anyone suggest some good recipes?

This web site - The Whole Life Nutrition Kitchen offers a handy recipe builder that allows you to subtract foods that you are allergic to. Basically, you use a drop down list, select the foods that you cannot eat, press enter, then you will see a list of recipes that are healthy and do not have the foods that you do not want.

You might also want to join WW online, they have a very handy daily food diary that you can complete every day, and keep track of your points.

The first thing I was going to recommend was Lean Cuisine entrees. They're generally around 5-7 points and are very satisfying for lunch. But, oh boy! it may be a little more work for you to find good ones considering the allergies.

Chicken salad is surprisingly low-point if you make it with white meat and low-cal mayonnaise. You can spice it up with some curry powder and raisins or whatever else you like in chicken salad. Good in a sandwich or on salad greens.

Soups are great, especially ones with a lot of fiber. I like lentil and split pea (I don't know if this qualifies as green beans) but I don't have recipes. Good because you can have a bunch of soup and still have points for a salad with some protein and low fat dressing.

My favorite WW breakfast foods would also be good lunches: oatmeal with a banana (or other low cal sweet or savory topping) and breakfast sandwiches. I make breakfast sandwiches from a high fiber english muffin (I see you're allergic to wheat but I'm guessing you have some kind of gluten-free bread you like), a few egg whites (3 for a point!) and low fat cheese.

Good luck! Starting on Weight Watchers again tomorrow after a few months hiatus.

I'd second joining WW Online or going to meetings for a few weeks/months to take advantage of the official resources available to members. (Not to get all "corporate policy," but WW frowns on people sharing points info, which is proprietary info...) There are a couple of specials right now that make it more affordable. They have a great recipe database, as well as a great new recipe builder feature where you can enter your ingredients and number of portions and it gives you the per-portion points value - really handy when making soups, casseroles, etc. Another resource is the Hungry Girl website/blog, although she focuses more on commercial products than recipes. Other ideas: magazines like Weight Watchers, Cooking Light and Clean Eating. Good luck! I have been back on WW since Nov and have been thrilled with my success. The program really does work when it's all you think about. :)

greenlitebites.com has lots of recipes, and most have the points calculated. Unfortunately, you can't sort the posts by the number of points, but you can browse through by category. Of course, you'll need to pick ones that work with your allergies, or where you can substitute (i.e., rice for pasta).

This recent post also lists other recipe blots that calculate points.
