Can you suggest a good bar in which to watch the State of the Union address in Cambridge? Bonus points for anything close to Central Square.

I mean, there must be a million bars I could just stroll into, but I can't help but think that in Cambridge, there are probably a few bars that lots of folks may be heading to specifically to watch the speech. WHAT ARE THEY?

Response by poster: Sorry -- that's Cambridge in Boston, to clarify.

The People's Republik shows major political events on all their screens. I was there for one of the presidential debates in '08, and it was a good time... people there are really into it, so gets a little loud when the crowd builds up, but you can still hear.

Yeah, I came here to say People's Republik.

Looks like there's not a separate Cambridge Drinking Liberally chapter anymore, but this might be of interest.

BostonTweet is reporting that Tavern in the Square (both Central and Porter) is showing the State of the Union as well.

Response by poster: Update: I actually did go to the People's Republik -- and they weren't showing the State of the Union! Thank golly gosh for this thread, because I went down the street and watched it at the Tavern on the Square instead.
