What can I do with guava paste?

The Brazilian food market near me had a special on guava paste the other day, so I picked up a couple of cannisters. Does anyone have any recipes they like that use the stuff?

Eat it with some farmer's cheese (queso blanco or the equivalent). If not sweet enough, add some panela, which is unrefined sugar packed solid.

On crackers with cream cheese is tasty.

other cheeses to try it with are fontina, or provolone, or havarti... in other words, a mild cheese, that will cut the intense sweetness of the guava without clashing with the fruity goodness.

The person who introduced me to this combo when I was living in Brazil called it "Romeo e Julieta" which I found quite fitting.

We used it as a glaze for pork tenderloin. Awesome.

I have to second the slicing it along with some with cheese on a cracker. I don't recall the exact cheese my puerto rican friend serves with it, but it was very hard white cheese with a little sharpness.

Use it to glue your guava back together?

Spread it on your person of choice. I think the rest becomes obvious at that point.

No, no dirty, that's Guava Jelly..

I've never eaten guava paste. I would p'raps mix it with a touch of honey, maybe a thimble of red wine, and top ice cream with it.
