What's the origin of "oh noes!"? I think I first encountered it at fafblog.

Mr. Bill from SNL in 1970's (a very funny thing, which, like all funny things is quickly ruined by overexposure)?

I always thought it a Lord of the Rings reference. Isn't that what whatshisname says all the time about his precious?

I'm sure, OHNOES, along with all the other odd utterances we all make when chatting on the Intarweb are social fallout from gaffs or somesuch that have occurred through the years.

I knew I'd been typing on the internet too long when, at a party, I followed a general exclamation during a discussion by saying 'One, one, one' to make sure my point was understood.

Yes, I'm hopeless.

I don't recall "OH NOES" featuring in a Pokey strip (and I'm a pretty big Pokey fan). Sounds more like a JeffK thing.

Origin: like so many of these things (like the LoTR comedy gif from a couple days ago), as mentioned, Something Awful and/or the Awful Forums. In their heyday (before the comedy level dropped as a result of a massive influx of accounts created to access the file sharing forums (which are no more)) they were consistently brilliant (and relentlessly sophomoric, but in a fun way).
