Cocktail for the 2000s

I want to make a signature cocktail for my NYE party that reflects the "aughts" or whatever the heck we're calling this decade that's coming to a close.

Simple is good, but I have a BevMo nearby and weird liquors are fun. I was thinking something like:

3 parts fancy champagne (overindulgence of the mid 2000s)
1 part Campari (the bitter recession)

You can do better, I'm sure.

PBR mixed with Bud Light with a shot of Absolut. ;) You can call it a Fraternized Hipster.

Vodka martini with two blue cheese stuffed olives to represent the 00's. Shaken, not stirred. If you want to reflect the bankers and political environment, etc., make it a dirty martini with a splash of olive juice.

Some folks are calling the decade The Noughties. That, at least, should make naming your drink easier.

The Depth Charge: a glass of bourbon with an Alka Seltzer dropped in.

Ten different liquors mixed together with a heavy dose of Angostura: "The Bitter Decade."

Response by poster: Thanks to those whose are providing suggestions that are actually drinkable. Snark is fun, but it don't get you drunk.

'Premium' vodka and 'energy' drink.

I will back up box's as appropriate for the past decade, as well as delicious.

My girlfriend and I have been pondering this same question and haven't got very far. The frontrunner at the moment is some absinthe cocktail, as absinthe was legalized in the last decade and, at least for me, seems special occasion-y (since I never drink it).

I should have said legalized in the US.

Something to remember the trend of those horrible energy malt booze drinks like Sparks.

Whatever excellent cocktails you serve, make tiny stickers with "Made In China" and stick them on the glasses (preferably cheap plastic glasses)

Irrespective of ingredients, the drink should be served in a clear plastic container, no larger than 3oz, inside a quart-sized ziploc baggie.
