Mp3 recorder for kids

My daughter would love a toy like the Fischer Price tape recorder from my childhood. A simple sturdy mp3 recorder with a microphone that can be operated by a small child. Does that perfect gift exist? My google skills turn op nothing.

Weird, I've seen video cameras and still cameras for kids as young as three, and an mp3 player safe for six month olds but nothing like you describe. If she isn't too young, an Iriver might work, but IIRC the buttons are pretty small and it might have taken a few steps to record something.

They still make it, under a different brand. Or just get yourself an old school tape player with big buttons.

I dont see mp3-specific recorders but there are a few voice recorders aimed at children:

Remembering my first Sony are we? So did I, and as luck would have these sturdy toys can be found at fleamarkets so my daughter has one. You can find one on ebay right now.

If you are looking for an MP3 player designed for kids check out SweetPea http://www.sweetpeatoyco.com/ Also Fisher Price made an MP3 player for kids but I think it's discontinued so you might have to look around for a used one.
