Meaning of a sign in Tillamook OR?

Posting for my mom (and yes, I know it's a long shot!). "What's the story behind the 'Nathaniel, we will always love you' sign posted on the side of a large utility trailer parked in the Coastal Plaza parking lot in Tillamook, Oregon?"

Best answer: I have no way of knowing whether this is it, but an 18 year old named Nathaniel died in a car accident in Tillamook, Oregon a little over a year ago. Could the sign have been there since then?

Best answer: After a little digging, I found that an eighteen year old named Nathaniel Ruel Neahring was killed in a car accident (scroll down to the bottom) last year on Sept. 27, 2008. He was from the area, but the accident occurred on Maimi-Foley road. For the life of me, I can't find the Coastal Plaza parking lot on Google Maps. If the sign is relatively recent, then it may be a family's tribute to an adoptive son. If it's older than a year, then the search continues.

Wow. I saw this on the frontpage, and I thought, "that question is not going to be answered, how ridiculous is that?" Thanks for surprising me, MetaFilter.

AskMeta rules so hard. I had this EXACT same question this past summer and googled to no avail. Wow. You guys are sweet.

Response by poster: hades: My mom said she's seen a few variations of the basic phrase on the sign. That is the correct parking lot and trailer. Google Maps is showing an earlier variation of the sign.

Thanks, all!
