Your feelings about Mefi

How do you use metafilter? Where do you post, and why? What motivates you to allocate precious time on this earth to reading this particular blog? Interested parties want to know. More inside.

I am in a class on Blogging and 'new media' in the Journalism department at UNC Chapel Hill. This class is taught by none other than Paul Jones, the founder of Ibiblio. For our final project, we are asked to choose an online community and analyze the interactions between users, and how those interactions might differ from the creator's expectations.

So, how does metafilter impact your life? Why are you here, reading this post? Why are you responding? Basically, spill your guts about your metafilter habit.

Please tell me if you do not want your response included in the final presentation. This presentation will be posted on the class website. There is plenty of interesting stuff there, including all of the course material and student responses.

Questions about Metafilter are traditionally posted in MetaTalk, as you probably read in the guidelines before you decided to go down this road.
