What refrigerators are available with small freezers?

US fridge-filter. I am trying to find a large refrigerator with a very small freezer. My google skills fail me, and I cannot find any sources that easily provides this information (especially since manufacturers don't report usable cubic footage). Suggestions are also welcome, although it must be Energy Star and shelves that slide out are highly desirable.

Kenmore Elite, wish I had a model number for you, but it has 2 refrigerator doors for the upper 2/3 and one slide out freezer door for the bottom. Incredible fridge space. Very wide though.

Some lumberyards used to have (some may still) in-house kitchen designers who would find anything to a client's specifications. Find your local one and ask where the kitchen designer is working now. If you can't get anywhere with that, google "Pacific Design Center, Los Angeles" and phone any shop therein and ask for a kitchen specialist referral.

Could you just go to a store and sorta eyeball them?

If Energy Star compliance is an important issue, search their database. The Energy Star folks are pretty with it, you can download a full product listing in HTML/PDF/CSV/Excel.

If "no freezer" is acceptable, it will be quite easy. Otherwise I imagine each brand and line has a general tendency re: proportions of frig/freeze.

Response by poster: No freezer is acceptable, Jack Karaoke. I hadn't visited the Energy Star database in awhile - their interface is better than it was, but not very granular. It did bring several brands to our attention that we hadn't heard of. Thanks for the suggestion - I should have started there, rather than google.

We'll find a kitchen designer as a last resort, goofyfoot. Trying to keep this under US$1k.

We'll find a different Sears than the one my partner was treated badly in, and look at that Elite, efalk. Bottom freezers aren't something we're entirely comfortable with, butwe can't tell until we see it.

And, yeah, fixedgear, you can go eyeball them, but we're trying not to drive to every appliance store in the Detroit area. And most are about 1/3 freezer and 2/3 fridge, which is not what we want.

Response by poster: As an update, there are no all refrigerator models with slide out shelves, and all of them are right hang only. Most of the theoretically available models aren't easy to track down.

I never did find a decent place to find refrigerator to freezer ratios, or even usable space versus claimed cubic footage.
