Managing a Job Hunt

What are some good online resources for the recently unemployed, particularly free or cheap software that helps me manage contact info, calls, appointments, mailings (like a CRM for jobhunting)? Also, recommendations for software for staying on top of the billing for freelance work?

Good god, how many calls and such do you plan to be making?

Sign up for a free Yahoo mail account, and use their integrated Address Book and their Calendar (with nifty reminder feature) to stay on top of your contacts and appointments.

You could use both the Calendar feature and their Notepad to keep a diary/record of your contacts and mailings as well.

Also, don't know if you've seen Indeed.com yet, but if you haven't you should check it out. Consolidated searching of multiple job posting sources from a single site.
