Online or local (NYC) sources for solid oak Mission-style home-office furniture?

I am looking to buy a desk and two-drawer lateral file cabinet in solid oak, Mission or Amish style. I have seen some nice furniture online (for example, at barnfurnituremart.com and missionliving.com), but have no idea if these are reliable sources. Does anyone have experience ordering this kind of furniture online, or alternatively, are there good stores in NYC?

Real hardwood furniture will be expensive. I got a desk and some stools from Pompanoosuc Mills, and it has worked out fine. They have a showroom in tribeca. Stickley makes the mission furniture, they have a showroom in Chelsea-ish.

Alternatively, hire a local furniture maker to build a custom one for you.

E J Audi, on 25th Street, has been the main NYC distributor of Stickley furniture forever.

Response by poster: Thanks so much for your responses! I plan to take my husband furniture shopping this weekend, and will check out all these suggestions.
