Charlatans Cover Song

I heard a cover of a Charlatans (UK, depending on geographic location) song in Banana Republic earlier this week. Problem is I can't remember which song. The cover had a motown, 70's funk tinge. Anyone know the song or performing artist?

"The Only One I Know" would lend itself to a Motown/70s Funk cover. Not sure if that's the song you heard a cover of though.

I'll tell you what the Shazam app on the iPhone (also available on Blackberry and Android I think) is perfect for this type of stuff. It listens to the music playing and goes and see if it can find its sound signature in its database. Even with background noise it comes back with the right song a lot.

It could be any number of their songs. Starting at the beginning, Indian Rope, perhaps?

Best answer: I'm picking that you heard "The Only One I Know" off Mark Ronson's album "Version". Tim Burgess still doing the singing though.

Best answer: Actually Robbie Williams singing.

Best answer: The Mark Ronson/Tim Burgess version at Glastonbury 2007.

Yep, Mark Ronson's version of "The Only One I Know" (I hadn't realized it was Robbie Williams either, though!). Thanks for the reminder that I've been meaning to pick this up.

Response by poster: Thanks all, I saw that flick too, says something about how forgettable it was.
