Help me make last minute dinner reservations for a large group!

Where can I make a last minute (Saturday, 7PM) dinner reservation for a group of 15 in NW DC? My original plan fell through!

So, I screwed up my own birthday and my original dinner plans fell through. I find myself in need of a place that can handle a group of 15 (+/- 5) at the last minute. Help?

Conditions:
Must serve beer
No Italian
Easily accessible by the Red Line
Within walking distance of other bars

Thanks, gang!

What's your price range and what sort of food are you looking for? There is now (fortunately) an abundance of places in NW with great beer lists, so that may not be the sorting tool it once was...

Try Lauriol Plaza. I've gone there before with a large group of folks. Not sure about the distance to other bars tho, but it's fairly close to Dupont.

Response by poster: Entrees up to $30, cheaper is better though. I honestly have no preference for food (outside of the "no Italian" condition), I'm more concerned with getting everyone at one place.

That is good news about the beer. My original plan was the new place, Birch and Barley, but I waited too long to make the reservation.

Best answer: Have you tried open table? Grillfish might work for you.

Lauriol is equidistant from Dupont and Adams Morgan, and can a group that size, but a group that size at 7PM on a saturday could be tough. But if you're going out to drink beers, rather than margaritas, not sure it's the place I'd pick anyway.

Rosemary's Thyme on 18th (and.. S maybe?) has a back room that should fit you all, and you can make reservations. Not sure what their beer selection is.

One suggestion is to search through old Got Plans chats on Washingtonpost.com.

Best answer: Not a recommendation per se, but try putting your search criteria in Open Table. At least then you'll have an idea of which places are still available.

Response by poster: I didn't even know you could do that with Open Table! I ended up going with Jack's after checking out the menu. A fair number of the group eat Paleo (well, excluding fermented grains... *cough cough*) so this place seems like it will work well.

Thank you, everyone. You managed to make me not look like the idiot who can't plan that I am!

My favorite place to go with a big group in DC is Thaiphoon. The food is excellent, the ambience pleasant, and the staff tends to be pretty accommodating of big groups. They're more known for cocktails than beer, but IIRC, they do serve several kinds of beer. May want to check to be certain. And then afterwards you can go out in Dupont, Adams Morgan or U St.
