What is this tune? [little snip from a french movie]. Thanks in advance.
I was going to say Amelie as well. If you don't know what movie, do you know when it was made?

Best answer: If it's a theme that keeps recurring, it was composed for the movie, according to this interview (in French):
[But this music was composed especially for the movie by Frédéric Vercheval... In the beginning this little piece of music was supposed to be blues, but we were afraid the viewers would miss it, because for the blues you have to have at least a bit of an ear. With Vercheval we thought about Italian movies, notably the political movies of the '70s like L'affaire Moretti, with their very simple and repetitive soundtracks. Pieces of music that keep coming back like a ritornello.]
Arrg! It sounds a exactly like a riff from something from the 80's that is rattling around in the back of my brain. This is going to bug me.
