Songs similar to Spring Awakening's "Touch Me?"

I love the song "Touch Me" from Spring Awakening. Are there more like it?

I don't know if I can fully articulate everything I like about the song, but here's my best attempt:

- A moderate to largish group in vocal harmony: I like the vocal interplay between the group, e.g., everyone building into a crescendo, which quickly segues into a solo, or when the group emphasizes particular parts of a phrase by coming in to sing it in unison.
- A melancholy, yearning tone, and sparse instrumentation (I don't want anything too operatic or saccharine, like songs from Disney musicals or something.)
- Pretty lyrics.
- A de-emphasis on showy vocal gymnastics.
- I think I also kind of enjoy that all the solo singers are male, but this isn't necessary.

Your suggestions needn't come from other musicals (especially since I don't care for the stupid speaking interlude in the original cast recording.)

Thanks.

Try putting it into Pandora. It will create a "touch me" radio station for you!

Response by poster: Thanks Avex, but Pandora isn't available where I live.

Response by poster: Also, similar services (e.g. grooveshark) seem to attach to surface features like "from a musical," rather than the things I single out here.

I put it into Pandora for you and here are the songs that came up: Danny's Song by Anne Murray & Martina McBride, Fall Baby Fall by Ryan Cabrera, Those You've Known by Spring Awakening, Acrobat by As Tall as Lions, Best Thing You Never Had by Butch Walker, Little Bit of Soul by The Meadows, The Time of my Life by David Cook. Hope that helps, and happy listening!

I love that song too. I also find some of the same qualities in music by
Iron and Wine
Muse - Starlight
Rufus Wainwright - Greek Song and stuff he sings with his father Loudon Wainwright III
