Help Me Waste Time with Japanese Cartoons, Please!

I'm trying to find the name of an anime series I read about on Ain't It Cool News earlier this year. Help!

Here's what I remember from the opening sequence:

-pretty jazzy theme song (Cowboy Bebop-ish?)
-tons of characters, often in pairs
-it was set maybe in the early 20th century (fictionalized, of course)
-there was a pair of gamblers, and a pair of thieves
-it was set (at least partially) on a train
-it was reviewed on AICN Anime in the past year or so

So, yeah, based on that I have been unable to successfully Google it. Can anyone assist?
