Looking for a BYOB (bring your own beer) restaurant in Charlotte, NC. I have searched AskMeFi for Charlotte eateries so I have a few ideas, but no mention of BYOB. This is for a bachelor party and the groom would prefer a BBQ joint but is open to other suggestions. Thanks.

Have you tried searching Yelp and Chowhound for suggestions? Yelp has reviews, Chowhound is a place you can search and post questions to.

I don't know what the law is in North Carolina, but everywhere I've ever lived, it was against the law for diners to bring their own alcohol into a restaurant.

Unfortunately Charlotte isn't much of a BBQ destination, and BYOB is not nearly as popular there as it is in other cities. That being said I know there are a few places where it's allowed. Urbàna Cityspa and Teabar (not very bachelor-y), La Bibliotheque, Snug Harbor (bar not restaurant), Cosmos Cafe (eclectic and young, probably the best). A cursory Urbanspoon search yieled this list, but I've never heard of any of them. Every thing else that allows BYOB is probably a strip club.

For some reason decent BBQ has evaded Charlotte despite being surrounded by it, but I have heard good things about Mac's.
