Forgotten Children's Book

Another forgotten children's book: stories of childhood mischief including one about eating dog biscuits. [MI]

There were at least a couple of these books. I would have sworn the illustrator was Tony Ross, but none of the titles sound right. They would have been published before 1990 or so. The dog biscuits story had some discussion on the flavours of the different colours; the black biscuits didn't taste any good.

I don't know about your book but I can tell you that the beige dog biscuits don't taste any good either.
