Name this movie: B&W, fugitive, hallucinations...

What Movie Was That? Old B&W. Wounded gangster/crim on the run. Holed up under a bridge or similar in the city. Kid kicks ball in gangster's general direction and runs to retrieve it. Crim hallucinates that the kid is a cop.

The hallucination part doesn't ring a bell but I'd guess it's Carol Reed's Odd Man Out.

Yeah, I instantly thought of "Odd Man Out" too. Great movie. Great director. Carol Reed (who was male) also made "The Third Man." I wish more of his films would be released on DVD.
