How do I sort my fastmail view out before I go insane?

Fastmail.fm users please help. Somehow I have made my inbox so that it doesn't show the folder list and the email messages side by side. It shows the email and a tiny bit of folder at the left. If I slide the cursor to the left (not using scroll bars) then the folder list appears. Slide to the right, the folder list slinks off to the side. It does not do it on any other computer I use. I'm in firefox. And I feel stoopid and it's really annoying me - please get my screen back static for me! thank you! This is so stupid and I know I should be able to find out the answer, but I CAN'T! I don't have a login to the fastmail forum thing (thought it was my same login as my email, but apparently not) and can't work out a form of words to search for. Yes, I realise I'm stupid.

Best answer: On the bottom of the sidebar when it slides out there should be a "stop hiding the sidebar" link. I just signed up and saw an autohide option, which changes to that when activated.

Response by poster: YESSS! You are my hero - thank you!

In my defence - I have a lot of folders so that was right at the bottom where I never look

Thank you thank you thank you!

The fastmail forum thing is here. Your FM username and or password are irrelevant there because it isn't owned or managed by Fastmail. It's part of a larger forum dedicated to email topics generally, whose private owner generously hosts it for the internet community. You need to sign up for a user name there as you would at any other web service; it's free (and trustworthy). The link I gave goes directly to the section about Fastmail.fm. There is a dedicated and knowledgeable group of Fastmail users there (frequently including the owner/developers of Fastmail), very willing and capable of answering lots of questions about email in general and Fastmail in particular. Definitely worth pursuing, especially for your Fastmail-specific questions. Not that MeFi is any slouch!, but that forum's users collectively have a great deal of Fastmail knowledge and experience.
