Who designed these new logos for CW and MTV shows?

Working on a graphic design exhibition, and trying to source the designer(s) of these logos for Gossip Girl, Melrose Place, 90210, The Beautiful Life, and Randy Jackson Presents America's Best Dance Crew.

This exhibition focuses on design influenced by Herb Lubalin, and these are key contemporary examples. We'd like to go through the proper channels to get vector versions or high-res art to include in the show, and have them properly credited. Attempts to contact the CW and MTV networks have been unsuccessful thus far. Anyone know anyone who knows someone who could help?

Wow, who knew Avant Garde was used so much for these teen shows? Try looking them up on IMP Awards. For example, they have Cold Open as the designers for posters for 90210, The Beautiful Life, and Melrose Place, and Arsonal for Gossip Girl. While they may not have designed the logos specifically, they may be able to give you a contact.

Also, this reminded me of this user from this thread who seems to be in this line of business. He says, for example, "CW does their advertising 'in-house.'" Maybe shoot him a MeMail.

You would probably have to contact the actual production companies that create these shows. From there, the logos may have been done in-house or, more likely, by any of about a bajillion little independent/freelance design shops that work with the industry.

If you're looking for an actual name of a designer...good luck. None of those are memorable beyond being the result of some "Hey, that retro Avant Garde look is hot right now" mandate. So, really, any entry-level designer could have thrown them together.

Good luck with the exhibition! Herb Lubalin was a fracking god.
