Name this movie. Sailboats, murder, courtroom ethical drama.

Name this movie about Cruising Sailboat couples on a remote island, murder and the ethical dilemma of the woman who was (married to? dating? sleeping with?) the murderer.

I think it was an older movie, maybe 90's possible older, certainly older than 2004 (that's when I saw it on HBO). It didn't have any actors that I recognize and I know most of the A and B list actors. Ok production values, but smacked of a made for TV, Law and Order type of affair.

It was not a "scary" movie, more a thriller suspense thing, though I seem to recall someone's hand getting chopped off with a cleaver (maybe I am mistaken).

They were definitely on sailboats in some remote tropical place, like in the Caribbean I want to say. I think the motive was something like the other sailboat was bothering them, or they needed equipment?

I do remember there was some melodramatic courtroom drama that capped off the movie with the aforementioned woman coming to grips with what she was part of and other ethical dilemmas.

I was going to say Dead Calm, which is sort of what you are suggesting but different (no island). Intense movie with young Nicole Kidman that I watched many times when I was a kid.

Response by poster: Yes, "And the Sea will Tell" that's got to be it... Once again the green amazes.

I was trying to find it and watch it for more certainty, but netflix has nothing... sorry for the delay... limited internet access.
