My brother is using windows server 2008 as his OS on his everyday PC. He has just gotten himself a new PC game, Fifa 10 demo, which wont run on his OS due to some sort of directX problem
Error:
You will need to install DirectX 9.0c to run FIFA 10. Locate the DirectX folder on the disc and select the dxsetup executable.
what he has tried:
-Installed DirectX again.
-Google searched it, replaced DX10 with DX9 which turns into a common error for his OS.

Best answer: List of games that will/won't run on Windows 2008 and how to make them work.
Follow the fix for FIFA 2008.

I think you will have lots of gaming and DirectX issues on Windows Server. It's really not for gaming.

Don't know about WS08, but in WS03, you had to turn on the graphics acceleration in the display adapter properties, it was a slider that was default set to "none" even with DX installed.

if that doesn't work, it never hurts to right click>run as administrator.
Other then that I'm stumped.
