Awesomeness in Haute-Alpes this weekend?

We're looking for activities/places/things not to miss in the northern French Alps this weekend.

We'll be spending Friday->Sunday in Evian-les-Bains and Sunday->Tuesday in Grenoble. What should we not miss? We have a car, if that makes a difference, and are willing to drive several hours to see the best things. What made you go 'WOW!'?

I didn't get to stop in Martigny (just drove past it, which was gorgeous anyway) when I was in the Alps, but I really wish I had. It's in Switzerland (I think the border crossing should be easy enough), about 1 hour from Evian-les-bains and 2.5 hours from Grenoble. Tourist attractions, including a labyrinth and a St. Bernard museum and various Roman ruins (including an amphitheater and a bath!).
