Help me not overscan!
September 23, 2009 10:46 AM   RSS feed for this thread Subscribe

I have an older SD/HD tube TV: Toshiba 32HF73. When watching SD shows in 4:3, it looks perfect. When watching 16:9 HD shows, it overscans in all directions. It doesn't matter what the source is (TiVo, Xbox360, etc.). The TV's on-screen menus don't seem to have a setting that deals with the issue. Any ideas on what I can do?

(I am connecting the HD using component video. I can use an HDMI/DVI cable, but I suspect that isn't going to make a difference.)

I had the same problem with my Samsung tube, and yeah, there wasn't much I could do. I'd vote for at leasty trying the HDMI input, seeing if it makes any difference.
