Free dialup internet access in Switzerland? (mi)

So far I've found Bluewin, Swix and Sunrise. Bluewin is huge and reliable, but they require a mailing address in Switzerland, and I don't need the extras. Swix and Sunrise look simple (no reg, call this number, use this password), but I want to make sure there's not some kind of per-minute charge or other catch. Has anyone used one of these services? Thanks!

Best answer: It is not free, since you have to pay local access costs (click on Surfpreise at the sunrise site you linked). There are no further 'hidden' costs.

Prices seem reasonable, I assume you do not have a sunrise select account so look at the 'Ohne sunrise select' prices which range from CHF 0.70 per hour to CHF 2.80 (daytime).

I have never heard of SWIX, but they seem to be using Sunrise infrastructure. If you are in Zürich use their 01 555 number, since that is local. (In fact it is a Sunrise corporate number, so that is a bit weird)

Well crap, I'm just looking through it again and you might have to pay local access cost on top of these prices.

It is Switzerland, not too many things are free, except for the scenery.

I thought Swix made glide and grip wax for skis...

Response by poster: Thanks, sebas. I'm staying with a friend's family in Vevey and I need to do some freelance work. I'm trying to be as inconspicuous as possible, and I don't want to rack up a bunch of charges on their phone bill. Maybe I can accidentally leave 100 francs to pay the bill, or leave some other token of gratitude.

Agreed. I love the country and the people, but it's definitely not a budget destination.
