Where can I get a ABO/rh blood type test done today in metro Washington dc?

I can overnight an eldoncard kit from amazon or the like, but need to know as soon as possible. No pharmacies seem to carry tehm, and I havnt had luck with medical supply companies either. Willing to drive up to 2 hrs from dc today to get a home test or get a same-day test performed? Help!!

Did you call the Red Cross at 20th and E Streets NW? They have a blood center.

Red cross sends it away for testing and typing they don't do it at the collection points. Thanks for the suggestion though

When I had your same question question for my own reasons, my wife's babydoc did the testing in-office, as I recall.

It turns out I've got rock-star blood.

Call the doctor and ask them to order a test at the hospital or lab with same-day results? Or see if their office/someone they know has an Eldoncard handy you can buy off them? If you know anyone in the military medical community, they may be able to grab you one, as I understand the cards are sometimes used on the battlefield. Last ditch would be MyBloodType.com up in Wilmington, DE. They profess to sell home blood test kits and may be willing to let you pick one up in person if you call them up.

I am curious what's behind this though. If you're looking to demonstrate paternity, blood type is a fairly bad method beyond the level of "yeah you could/could not be the father." If something is going on that involves the transfusion of bodily fluids or the transplantation of organs, well that's a problem. Basically, if nothing horrible will happen if you calm down, go through the process and get a normal lab test through your doctor with results in a couple days, perhaps you should consider doing that? Freaking out over blood type is a pretty extreme thing to do.

Don't have a family doc in the area yet, but I'll try a couple local offices and see if they're willing to & can do it this afternoon. Apologies for the double question, was posting from my phone and frankly didn't take the time to read previous questions (and the title to yours didn't sound like mine).

Not freaking out, and everyone has their reasons; but thanks for the off topic curiosity.

Might also want to try Zask Medical. Good luck.
