What is the best way to print power point slides?

I know about the handout option. However, I don't know the easiest way to get rid of backgrounds, retain images, and change all text to black. Also, is there any way to get the notes to show up on the slides themselves? This is a power point in general question, and is not tied to any particular version or operating system.

My experience with that in PP is pretty dismal.
You can print the text with no pictures or background though.

Just checked:
File>Print>Print what>Outline view
There is also an option for pure black and white just below that.

I use 'Send to -> Microsoft Word' to create handouts for the finance classes I teach.

Sometimes the images don't come along for the ride, but its not a problem to copy / paste from the PowerPoint original into the Word document. Same point applies if you're using Equation Editor; just copy in PowerPoint and they'll paste in as images into MS Word.

In PowerPoint, there should be an option to print "grayscale". That will print images and text in black and white.

I use this option almost on a daily basis, although I try not to print slides whenever possible.
