Can anyone identify this wasp?

Can anyone identify this wasp?

A friend got stung, and though I'm not terribly worried, I want to make sure it's not going to give him The Death.

There are so many wasps in the world that it might help us to know where you are.

It looks something like a spider wasp. The wing markings and orange antennae are a good match.
