Rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball

Apple clearly states: water only.

I've got a 3M lintless cloth that I dampen and lightly wipe across. Works like a charm.

For dust? I just go over it with an electrostatic dusting cloth. Swiffer, something like that.

For schmutz? Lightly moistened paper towel. Then dry paper towel to remove streaks.

For the case/keyboard? I use a tiny tiny bit of detergent (to deal with finger grease and such) on a moist -- not wet -- paper towel, then go over it with a non-detergent moist paper towel, then a third pass with a dry one.

Don't push to hard! You can cause some serious damage this way. And never use too much water, I've seen some horrible things happen with screens that were sprayed. As was mentioned, moist or damp, never wet.

yep, damp rag for the screen.

If you've got a white iBook or a Powerbook, and it's started to get grimy where you rest your hands, Mr. Clean Magic Erasers will take the grime off.

I find a simple cotton handkerchief does the job, moisten it slightly, then rub the screen gently in a circular motion. And leave to dry.

I can't believe people spend £20 in the Apple Store on polish to do the same job.. although if I thought it would get the grime off the casing, I might be sold.

For dust? I lightly brush the screen with my sleeve, or if I'm feeling particularly anal, a clean sock or similar light fabric.

(Someday I'd like to see if it's possible to clean off the "key marks" (skuffs?) made by the keys touching the screen when the iBook's closed, but I think those may be more permanent.)

Guarantee: 50% water, 50% alcohol. Don't do all alcohol. It works PERFECTLY.

I bought several eyeglass cleaning cloths at Costco, which are some kind of incredibly soft microfiber material. I use these to clean all of my computer monitors and screens (as well as my eyeglasses) dampened with a little bit of water. They don't scratch or streak, they're extremely soft but do not shed fibers or lint of any kind, and they're very absorbent so I don't have to worry about excess water being left behind. I don't know the maker, but a visit to any vision center in a Costco, WalMart, Target, etc. should yield something similar. I recommend them quite highly.
